May 2017 saw Domenic Aquilina awarded with the prestigious “Sports Photographer of the Year 2017” award at the 27th edition of the Malta Journalism Awards night held at The Palace in Sliema.
Aquilina’s three images “The Hug”, “Drifter” and “Heads I win” landed the coveted award for the second time – the other being in 2014.
